Café Rose de Lima
Café Rose de Lima was a neighbourhood brunch restaurant I owned and managed. From the plate to the décor, from the menu to the presentation I was able to speak to our concept of seasonal, fresh food, nestled into a warm and welcoming artist’s hive theme. I was co-owner, partnered with Daniela Ortiz who illustrated the whimsical branded concept. As chef and designer I guided the entire style and the whole experience that our clients came back for.
Who is InPrint?
InPrint, a large volume garment printing company, is a true Montreal success story. I managed a staff of 10 to 40 during a time of rapid growth when they were transitioning from medium to large output prints. I established the art department, designed systems for efficient production workflows and streamlined the approval system with client prints and techpacks. By commissioning our talented staff I was able to unify a visual identity in our media, in our prints, and in the decor. InPrint continues to succeed and grow by utilizing many of the system I grandfathered into their process.
Communication
I developed a techpacking system that the sales and art teams could put together quickly and that clearly communicated what the client wanted and what the printer will produce. When the system was rolled out our off-prints dropped by a significant factor and our client satisfaction rate soared.
Identity
Working with the illustration concepts of artist Jeremy Hansen, I was able to develop the identity of InPrint with his edgy urban style. I used his artwork for festival uniforms, banners, website design, social media and general company promotion.
Production
There are many steps in the production of printing garments that, when done with efficiency and with good attention, will result in a noticeably high quality output. As I lead the managers in the production cycle, together we established InPrint as Montreal’s leader in quality screenprints.
Circus Arts
Ten years in the circus arts provided opportunities to write and direct shows with a lot of creative freedom. I honed my skills around strong, talented teams, motivated students and eager audiences. As the creative director I personally oversaw writing, directing, set design, costumes as well as skill development of performers, and all aspects involved to build circus shows.
